SOS Radial Tire Service was founded in 1973 by Walter Smith with two locations, a tire center in Garden City and a Bandag Recap shop in Sylvania, GA. Ken Ritchie, Smith’s stepson, purchased SOS Tire and quickly turned it into an industry leader. He grew the company and formed partnership with other regional dealerships.

We provide fleet service, including the servicing of national accounts.

The location of our TIA-certified tire dealership and NAPA Truck and AutoCare Center was moved to our state-of-the-art facility at 115 Kicklighter Way, behind Carey Hilliard’s Restaurant on Highway 80 in 2000. Another 15,000-square foot shop was added on the property in 2007.

Third-generation, son-in-law Sam Spencer now owns SOS Tire and Service, which is proud of its latest expansion project, a 17-bay diesel truck shop, scheduled to open in the spring of 2019.
